Project Synopsis:
Welcoming international visitors landing at the Vancouver International Airport (YVR), YVR Station included complex scheduling for a phased construction process which was required to complete this fast-paced heavy construction project.
The station was more like building a high bridge since it was elevated 15M above the ground on huge piers. Complicating construction was the fact that it was being built in a very active and congested area of the airport. Traffic had to be maintained below the new structure as it was being built.
